Anderson Silva stepped up to face Daniel Cormier with just 3 days notice following Jon Jones drama. Win, lose or draw it was certain Silva, aka The Spider had plenty of bravado.
Now the infamous Gracie Breakdown brings us an interesting analysis of the fight.
“Anderson is fighting Daniel Cormier Tomorrow Night” – Rener Gracie says of the moment he learned of the fight – “Anderson came off of two months of not training at all due to gallbladder surgery in Brazil and 48 hours notice”
Of course Cormier won the fight but Anderson Silva won the night.
“It was a spectacular display of punch protection and distance management only Anderson knows to do as well as he does.” – continued Rener
Silva utilized a half down version called The Lockdown, a often utilized part of the Eddie Bravo system.
“(Cormier) got on top of the fight, he was controlling the situation and the lockdown”

Silva is further applauded for going up a weight class and especially so given that he was going up against a champion of that weight class.
Rener mirrored the thoughts of many spectators “We couldn’t have been more excited to see what would happen. “
Gracie Breakdown went on to feature handy ways to get out of the Lockdown. In the past, Lockdown was famously featured in Eddie Bravo vs Royler Gracie 2 at Metamoris.
