Garry Tonon made no secret of the fact he plans to try his hand at MMA in the past. There was no official word on how when and where though. In September 2015 Tonon was quoted saying:
It’s official, I will be attempting to make feather weight for nogi worlds this year. I plan to have an MMA fight within a year and I will likely be fighting 145 so this will be a good test to see if i can handle the cut.
However since then besides a grappling/mma experiment and a brief striking video not much was seen from the young ace.
But now we got some more definitive news. Tonon writes:
My MMA journey begins, not a bad crew to start it with.
