Delirious Danis thinks Bellator Champ Douglas Lima Would Be an Easy Debut

Dillon Danis has said a number or preposterous things over the last year or so. The latest in line is that he believes Douglas Lima is no match for him – even though he has yet to make an MMA debut.

“I think I’m going to make my debut maybe January,” Danis told Submission Radio. “I was planning on December before this whole surgery thing happened, but I want to focus a lot more on my hands and stuff like that. But yeah, I think I’m going to go full in now to MMA, and maybe I’ll do some jiu-jitsu matches or maybe focus a little bit more on jiu-jitsu and then do both. I don’t know. I’m trying to figure everything out now. Honestly, it’s rough, you know?”

Of course the majority of his interview related to his famous “older brother” McGregor who he backed up when it came to a duel with a freshly minted 10th Planet black belt Tony Ferguson.

“A hundred percent,” Dillon responded when asked if McGregor could handle Tony’s grappling. “I don’t know what people judge that off of. I don’t know why they would say he [Ferguson] has the superior advantage on the ground or stuff like that. People don’t even know what Conor’s jiu-jitsu’s like or anything like that, so um…me training with Conor so much in jiu-jitsu, I feel like he’ll be fine on the ground, or even better.”

Danis also revealed he was offered to grapple Tony Ferguson for Metamoris in the past however he opted for Joe Lauzon given that Ferguson was a purple belt at the time:
