270 lbs Big Dan Manasoiu Loses Arm Wrestling Match to Female Champ

A professional grappler recently engaged in two friendly yet competitive arm wrestling matches against an accomplished female champion in that sport. Dan Manasoiu, a 23-year-old Brazilian jiu-jitsu athlete with success in major submission grappling tournaments, faced Sarah Backman, a multiple-time arm wrestling titleholder, during an informal gathering where they decided to pit their respective strengths against each other using a proper arm wrestling table.

In the first round, Mr. Manasoiu was swiftly defeated as Ms. Backman effortlessly pulled his arm to the table, prompting laughter from both competitors about the unexpected outcome. While surprised by Ms. Backman’s display of strength, Mr. Manasoiu shared the results on social media without dissatisfaction.

Undaunted, they agreed to a second round where Mr. Manasoiu attempted a different technique by adjusting his posture. Employing a valid arm wrestling approach aimed at leveraging momentum, although he maintained his position briefly, Ms. Backman ultimately prevailed again by countering his effort.
At 6’7″ and robust, Mr. Manasoiu has a sizable physical stature compared to the 5’8″ Ms. Backman, yet the results demonstrate how arm wrestling requires mastery of various nuanced factors like grip, body positioning, wrist control, timing and endurance rather than relying solely on physical size. Both athletes enjoyed testing their abilities in a spirited competition between their respective sports.
