BJJ black belt Mike Bidwell from BJJ after Forty shows an interesting variation to the classic cross collar choke from the guard.
Bidwell stated:
Here’s a pretty dope modifcation and set up for the cross collar choke.I LOVE THIS CHOKE!!!! I came across this really cool version recently when I was rolling with a student. I saw the opportunity when I was rolling so I made a mental note of what I did. I then went back to the “bulletin board” and figured out the best ways to incorporate it into my guard game. It’s a VERY tight choke and it doesn’t wreck your fingers like a traditional “inside the collar” grip. Give it a try and as always ‘Happy Training’.
