Garry Tonon: ‘I Want Face Rousimar Palhares’

Garry Tonon was in at Titan MMA in Vancouver doing a seminar. He chats about his EBI winnings, grappling progression, when he realized his greatness as a grappler and more.

When asked who he wants to face in the near future, Tonon called out fellow leg lock specialists Rousimar Palhares and Ryan Hall. He also mentioned that he would like a rematch with Lucas Lepri (that beat him at ADCC 2015) and Michael Langhi.

Palhares is considered to be one of the best in the world at leg locks, such as the heel hook and knee bar. Palhares took 2nd place in the under 88 kg 2011 ADCC, finishing his first three opponents quickly with leg locks, before losing to established World Champion Andre Galvao in the final, by points.

Let’s hope that one of the big professional BJJ invitationals can make this happen.
