From BJJ Mental Coach Gustavo Dantas:
The number four most common mental mistakes Jiu-Jitsu competitors make is “Dwelling on mistakes”. This dwelling can happen during competition, which can really affect your performance and/or after the competition, causing you a lot of frustration and disappointment.
I feel that the competitors who dwell on mistakes the most are the perfectionists ones, because they have high expectations for their performance. I personally didn’t realize that my perfectionism was holding me back until I started studying Mental Skills Training.
