fightinglifestyleuae.com caught up with top-level female BJJ competitor Ariadne Oliveira, who shocked the world as a brown belt by submitting Michelle Nicolini in the semi finals and going on to win the finals by finishing Diario Corumbaense via triangle choke.
Ariadne Oliveira who won gold at the world pro’s and silver at the IBJJF world’s currently resides in the UAE and is part of the countries Jiu-jitsu program. She talks to us about her background and how coming from a household of BJJ practitioners shaped her as a fighter.
Ariadne earned a black belt upon landing from her master and father Joao Manuel.
Ariadne started practicing jiu-jitsu with her father nine years ago. She has two Brazilian featherweight titles and took 2nd place at world championship in California in 2013.
