The bout will mark the return to the mats for Nino. He has not fought since April of last year, when he attended the Las Vegas Open and was beaten in the final of the super heavyweight division by Yuri Simões. However, despite the time away, the black belt will ensure that he is prepared and eager for the encounter.

Nino told Tatame:

“Since I started my preparation for Vitor, I’ve even been training the physical part and honing my Jiu-Jitsu every day. The expectation is to fight the best result. It’s always good to fight in events like this, even against high level guys, “

At age 40, the fighter, who is famous for his flexibility and ability to create new moves, ensures that he will continue focusing on the moves that made him shine in the 1990s.

“Surely, elastic positions can be expected of me. My forte has always been flexibility. Also, my game has always been very active, like Vitor, then it’s likely that someone will be submitted by the end of the fight. Hopefully it will be him (laughs), ”

“Vitor needs no introduction, he is one of the great names in the history of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and it will be an honor for me to face him. I have not thought much about his game, I’m more focused on me, but I imagine it will be a busy fight, “
