Rodolfo Vieira will step on the mat on Sunday (02) with a taste for revenge in the mouth, in the fight for the absolute gold of the black belts at the World Championship Jiu-Jitsu . The Carioca, who lost to Marcus Buchecha at the World Pro Cup final this year, faces his tormentor for the fourth time.

“In 2011, I managed to beat him. Last year, I lost the absolute final in Abu Dhabi and lost in the quarterfinals at the Worlds too. Now, it will be our fourth meeting. I’m pretty confident, but I know it will be a very difficult fight, as always. Regardless of the outcome, it will be a great fight. We are there to overcome what Roger, Jacare and Xande made in the finals of the absolute” Rodolfo said.

Because of the constant clashes, the black belt already knows the game Buchecha, and knows the risks he runs. However, he believes that he is in a better phase now, and that things can be different this time.

“You cannot blink with him. He does not stop. I started well in Abu Dhabi, and I ended up losing in the end. Now I submitted all my opponents without taking any point, and I hope to keep the good run. Be it what God wants, “he added.

Rodolfo had four fights and submitted all his opponents. First he choked out Lucas Sachs, then he choked Antônio Peinado from Alliance from the back. The third fight was against Soul Fighter’s João Gabriel, by armbar. The semifinal was against Alliance’s Leo Leite who popped his knee during the match but decided to continue. Rodolfo submitted him by armbar.

On his side, Buchecha also had four fights. First he submitted Alessandro Ferreira, then he faced Bruno Bastos, and tapped him from the mount. After the fight, Bruno handed his black belt to Buchecha, which means that he would retire from the Worlds. Buchcha made short work of his next opponent Marcus Evangelista, who he also tapped from the mount. In the semifinal he faced Bernardo Faria.  Buchecha was behind on points and a last minute sweep made him win.
