Weekend Recap: IBJJF Brasileiro, Las Vegas Open, Copenhagen Gi & No Gi Open

The IBJJF had a busy weekend with no less than 4 competitions running at the same time in 3 continents.

Here’s a recap of the action:

IBJJF Brasileiro

The 2014 Brasileiro (Brazilian Open) was held in Barueri, São Paulo. Felipe Preguica Pena made the absolute final with Xande Ribeiro. However, during his fight with Allan Regis in the semifinals of weight, Xande suffered a pulled groin and had to give up on the final with Felipe. Since he had no opponent, Preguica took gold in the open weight.

Talita Treta, on the other hand did not have an easy time  to beat Manckenzie Dern. The fighter from Gracie Humaita went ahead to pull guard and sweep the Paulista. But playing under and losing by two to zero, Talita got two advantages. Treta then pulled guard and applied a good sweep, thus earning the gold in the absolute.
