In a disturbing incident captured on video and shared widely across social media, a violent altercation erupted on York Street in the heart of Sydney’s central business district – culminating in a man being put in a Rear Naked Choke, until he fell unconscious on the sidewalk.
The video, initially posted on Reddit, reveals a confrontation involving a group of young men and an individual wearing a white shirt.
The situation intensifies when one of the young men shoves the man in the white shirt, who attempts to communicate with the group before another individual approaches from behind and wraps his arm around his neck.
Eventually, the man drops on the ground, appearing to be unconscious.

A spokesperson for the NSW Police detailed the events, stating:
Last night at around 10pm police were called to a licensed premises on York Street, Sydney, after receiving reports of an assault.
Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command attended and spoke to a 33-year-old man who had reportedly been assaulted during an altercation with a group of men on the street.
The victim reportedly suffered facial injuries and was subsequently transported to St Vincent’s Hospital for medical attention.
