A heartwarming incident took place during a local BJJ tournament – when a competitor’s dog made an unexpected appearance on the mat, to visit his owner.
The touching moment occurred as an unidentified competitor was engaged in a BJJ match, with his opponent in Closed Guard.
Suddenly, the man’s dog casually trotted onto the mat and laid down over his owner, displaying an adorable act of loyalty.
However, the referee promptly intervened – lifting the dog off the competitor and escorting it away from the competition area.
The incident took place during the Campeonato Nacional Open, organized by the Liga Chilena de Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in ValparaĂso (Chile).
Despite the interruption, the crowd applauded for what had happened.
Francisca Silueta recorded the incident on video, later saying:
Suddenly, all the eyes were staring at this dog, and all the competitors had to stop.
Everybody started clapping.It was like the dog had won first place.
