[WATCH] Brian Ortega Hits Spectacular Arm Triangle Choke Comeback At UFC Mexico City

Brian Ortega overcame adversity to secure a stunning victory against Yair Rodriguez – in the co-main event of UFC Mexico City!

Ortega, who faced a significant setback in their first encounter due to a shoulder injury, found himself in dire straits early on…
But managed to turn the tide in a dramatic fashion – via Triangle Choke!

The night started off with a concerning moment for Ortega, as he injured his ankle during the introduction part – when he jumped into the air and landed awkwardly.
Things didn’t get much better when the match started, either; as he faced Rodriguez’s aggressive offense head-on, who unleashed a barrage of strikes.

However, Ortega showed incredible resiliency, and powered through.
And, well, his grappling skills came to decide the end of the match.

As he brought Rodriguez to the ground, Ortega executed a flawless Arm Triangle Choke in the third round – forcing Rodriguez to tap out.
This victory not only marked an incredible comeback but also reestablished Ortega as a formidable contender in the featherweight division.

Ortega reflected on the injury before the start of the match, as well as on the finish:

Right when they were introducing us, I jumped up and I rolled my ankle and I freaked out.

[Once I had that Arm Triangle Choke] it’s a wrap.
I’ve been training super hard. I got my life together. I’m not being an idiot anymore.

This is what we did.
We trained non-stop for three months.
