The student of Cicero Costha, beat Yuri Simões and Léo Nogueira by sweeps in order to reach the absolute final.
In the final, Bernardo passed guard and finished the opponent with a precise choke. It’s very rare to see Leandro Lo getting his guard passed and even rarer seeing him getting submitted!
Despite the painful defeat, Lo can be happy: he took gold in the lightweight after beating Otavio Sousa.
