Rener Gracie has to stay put in California and can’t corner his student Brian Ortega in his much awaited fight with the Korean Zombie Chan Sung Jung at UFC fight night in Abu Dhabi on October 17.
Rener shared the bad news news on his Instagram tonight.
He and is wife Eve Gracie, both tested positive for Covid last month. Rener then tested negative for the virus two times and was cleared to go to Abu Dhabi, however just before boarding the plane, results came back from his latest test: He was positive once again meaning that he could not travel to the UAE to corner Brian Ortega.
According the Rener, who is asymptomatic, the positive test is most likely a result of the residual effects of Covid.
