Rafael Lovato Jr. is a force to be reckoned with…
He just won his 6th (!) IBJJF Masters World Championship title!
Lovato competed at the Master 1 division, meant for athletes aged 30-35 years old – even though he turned 40 years old a few months ago.
It was a dominant performance. Peep the Armbar that won him the final match:

Rafael Lovato Jr. shared more about his experience in the tournament follow-up social media post:
Got off to a bit of a slow start since my first two round opponents no showed & after waiting nearly 2hrs, I went straight thru to the quarterfinals with only the toughest guys left in the bracket.
After I got my first match out of the way, I felt my rhythm & was able to get the submission in both my semis & finals match.
Timeless Jiu-Jitsu closed guard, butterfly guard, & pressure passing helped me get the job done.
And no, he didn’t compete in the absolute…
For one simple reason:
I stayed out of the open class today to keep the body fresh for the WNO training camp that starts as soon as I get home.
