The Dutch MMA legend, Gilbert Yvel, has recently been promoted to the rank of a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt!
His coaches, Remco Pardoel and Marcelo Andreoli, promoted him a few weeks ago from the rank of purple belt.

Yvel’s early career saw him dominating the regional MMA circuits in Holland and making a name for himself in RINGS events.
His dynamic fighting style caught the eye of PRIDE – leading to his debut against Vitor Belfort at PRIDE 9.
His stint in PRIDE and later in the UFC, where he fought from 2010, solidified his status as a fan favorite.
Yvlel concluded his successful MMA career in 2018, boasting a record of 40-16-1 (1) – including victories over legends like Ricco Rodriguez, Gary Goodridge, and Pedro Rizzo.
