Since he was reinstated by the UFC following his legal problems, Jon Jones is increasingly excited and determined to return to the top. In recent weeks, the light heavyweight ex-champion of the organization returned to post frequently on social networks, by either uploading videos or photos of him exercising. He has even been provoking Daniel Cormier, current holder of the belt and whom he defeated in January this year.
As usual, “Bones” impressed his followers on Monday, showing his strength and determination. He posted a video lifting a lot of weight in a gym where he is training to keep fit. However, this time the fighter excelled and deadlifted about 265kg, and was praised by his fans. Will this new kind of preparation to make his game even better? Only time will tell.
Jones explained on Instagram why he has been lifting so much lately:
“I’ve been hearing concerns about me doing so much strength training, but just know that there’s a method to our madness. Right now we are in a strength building phase. Totally aware of all the different things needed to be an elite martial artist. #agility #endurance #cardio #mattime #newskills”
