Gordon Ryan‘s recent health issues had kept him off the mats for a long time.

He suffered a severe case of strep throat infection, due to which he ended up in the hospital.
During his stay, he was on over 40 days of antibiotics straight – and his previous stomach issues have relapsed.

All of this, plus a tonsillectomy surgery, have kept Ryan away from training for around 4 months.
But now, he seems to be back! Here is what he had to share in a recent Instagram post:

It’s been almost 4 months since I’ve been able to be on the mats. The longest by far I’ve ever been away.
I’m happier today than I’ve been in a long time.

Rolled around a little with my old friend and mentor Brian Glick here at UFC Performance Institute.
Had some jiu jitsu, wrestling, and MMA legends in the session today as well.

A quick trip to Vegas for the boys and some UFC media and business, then off to Hawaii to show everyone what I’ve been thinking of and working on before I got sick.
Can’t wait to see everyone out there.
