Fabricio Werdum Set To Participate In ADCC 2013 & Claim 3rd Title

Since winning the Brazilian trials for the ADCC in 2003, Fabricio Werdum has become one of the biggest names in the tournament. In his first participation in the edition that took place in São Paulo, he got the silver medal. In 2005, back in the biggest tournament in the world of grappling, Werdum was third.

In 2007 and 2009, Werdum won the championship. In 2011, he barely missed on winning his third gold medal by losing in the final to Vinny Magalhaes. He will have another chance to win a third title this year. That’s because, Fabricio Werdum revealed that he has been invited to this year’s ADCC which will beheld on 19 and 20 October in China.

“I got the call this week. If I have a fight scheduled for UFC, but I will definitely fight ADCC. I’ve medallled in all editions that participated. It is a tournament that I really like and I’ve been participating since 2003, when I won the Brazilian trials “he said excited.

After a submission win over Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in the final of TUF Brazil 2 , in Fortaleza, the UFC hasn’t yet offered a extention to his contract.
