Eddie Bravo, the brain behind 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu, has been promoted to 4th degree BJJ black belt!
The promotion took place by none other than his seasoned mentor and BJJ legend, Jean Jacques Machado.

Bravo, who embarked on his Jiu-Jitsu journey back in 1994, has been under Machado’s tutelage since the beginning.
Over the span of his career, Bravo has not only been a pioneer in the sport – but has also introduced groundbreaking techniques; most notably, perhaps, the Twister and the Rubber Guard.
His claim to fame was solidified when, back in ADCC 2003, Bravo took the BJJ world by storm… Because, as a mere brown belt, he submitted the iconic Royler Gracie!
Joe Rogan thought back to Bravo’s legendary win in one of the JRE episodes:
Eddie has crazy flexibility and leg dexterity. It’s very surprising. So, if you’re in his guard, you’re fuc*ed, and Royler didn’t know it.
He was in Eddie’s guard and Eddie just slapped that Triangle on him and then started pulling the head. And Royler tapped and it was insane.
I was crying. Dude. I’ll cry right now. Woo.It changed his life. He was always like this super talented guy. And he didn’t kind of want to believe it for some strange reason.
He was very humble about his Jiu-Jitsu. He knew he was pretty good, and then he started winning tournaments. It was one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen in my life because for him to go there – he was such an underdog.
Sloth Jiu-Jitsu: you can be slow and unathletic and still kick butt in Jiu-Jitsu.
