This happened last weekend in Moscow, Russia at a competition called BJJ Party. Our Russian friends from BJJ Freaks were present and filmed the incident.
Contrary to what it looks like, the girl who last was NOT a brown belt in BJJ. Both were white belts, they just borrowed that belt to tell them apart for the referee scoring points.
It is not clear what caused the bad blood but it was certainly a very ugly scene…
We reached out to the guys at BJJ Freaks, and they told us that the girl who threw the punch was promoted to blue belt today:
There’s a full battle we have on the channel YouTube . It was the finals. One girl accused the other that she “fights dirty”. In response – a punch in the face. The girl was disqualified. But!!! Today her coach awarded her for this punch and gave the blue belt
