What is Unarmed Tactical Combat?

Created by Juliano Ninja (a black belt in Jiu Jitsu and MMA athlete) during his time in the army, Unarmed Tactical Combat is the largest Jiu Jitsu competition in the world for police and armed forces, open to officers and military personnel from Brazil and other countries.

Competitors fight on a mat covered with mud and stone to simulate a combat environment or a police incident.

Unarmed Tactical Combat is the first Jiu Jitsu/Grappling competition to use the “Pit Cage” format.

With few and differentiated rules that prioritize submission, participants fight in their combat uniforms: boots, tactical pants, rash guard, t-shirt, or jacket.

In Unarmed Tactical Combat, scoring follows this format:

Sweep, knee on belly, guard pass, mount, back control: 1 point. Takedown: 2 points. Submission attempt: 3 points.

Fight time GP: 6 minutes. Super fight: 10 minutes.

In the first three minutes, only points for takedowns and submission attempts are valid, while in the second half, points for sweeps, knee on belly, guard pass, mount, and back control also count, the same rules apply to the Super Fight.

Categories: preliminary card, lightweight category (80kg), heavyweight category (+80kg), and Super Fight. The Super Fight is a battle between the GP champion of one edition and the champion of another, similar to ADCC.

Broadcasted live in over 70 countries, Unarmed Tactical Combat has held 4 editions in 2 years. Police and military from all over Brazil participate, and the event’s CEO, Juliano Ninja, is already receiving resumes from officers and military personnel from the USA, Latin America, and Europe, and according to him, “soon we will be holding an event called Conflict between Nations.”

Juliano Ninja is producing an edition to take place in Europe, in Serbia, and also an edition in the USA.

CEO Juliano Ninja is producing a selection format to fight in the main event, and the selection would essentially be a Jiu Jitsu competition, with six fighting areas, the same rules, and competitors fighting in their combat uniforms, IBJJ format, and with live broadcast.
