UFC’s Joaquin Buckley Says He Refused To Fight Ian Garry Due To Herpes Outbreak

It’s been in a recent interview that UFC’s middleweight contender Joaquin Buckley revealed that he turned down a fight against rising star Ian Garry…
Because of his opponent’s alleged herpes outbreak.

When asked why he declined the fight, Buckley jokingly explained:

I declined that one though.
I ain’t want to catch no herpes, ni**a.

My man be having them little pop ups.
I ain’t [trying to catch that] because I like to wrestle now.

He then added that there’s another reason behind declining the fight – and that is the lack of excitement:

I didn’t want to fight Ian Garry because he’s not that dude to me.

He’s trying to get back out there, but he’s just not that exciting, and the way he promotes his fights is kind of lame.

And no, Buckley doesn’t think that this means “ducking” anyone:

I didn’t duck anybody, and I didn’t do anything wrong.
I’m just picking my shots, and I’m feeling blessed to be where I’m at right now.

I deserve to call my shot a little bit.
Can’t nobody say I’m ducking the dodge than anybody.
