Veteran who Lost Legs in Afghanistan Inspiring Others by learning Jiu-Jitsu

Garrett Carnes joined the marines after highschool. After enlisting he did two tours in Afghanistan. As luck had it he stepped on the IED bomb – an improvised explosive device. The explosion caused him to lose both his legs.

Carnes, who is the father a three small children, is tackling a new challenge: learning the martial art of jiu-jitsu.

 

Carnes can be seen proudly wearing a white belt as he does bjj alongside his small son.
