TV Guide For This Weekend: Watch Buchecha, Barral, Keenan and more

This weekend is going to be action packed! Lovers of grappling will have an opportunity to choose from a variety of events featuring some of the biggest names in bjj!

And honor to be on the same poster as these legends.

King of Absolute Marcus “Almeida” Buchecha will be fighting against Elliot Marshal in a special sub only charity match. Buchecha told flograppling :

“Cancer is one of the biggest problems in the world. I don’t have anybody in my family who had cancer, but I saw some people close to me fighting the disease,” Buchecha said.

Even some cases in the sport, too — opponents that I fight all the time who fought and overcame it. It’s really good to see people win, and let’s say, submit cancer.

This event will be taking place in Denver, Colorado on the 13th of August.  Also featuring:

  • Lyoto Machida vs Jake Shields
  • Neil Magny vs Ryan Drexler

Over on the other side of the globe Berkut 3 will be gathering some of the biggest names around in an East meets West grappling event on the same day (August 13th) in Grozny, Chechnya. The main event of this tournament is a fight between freshly retired Romulo Barral and Yuri Simoes. Other black belt fights on the same card are:

  • Felipe Pena vs Jackson Sousa
  • Michael Langhi vs Edwin Najmi
  • Magid Hage vs Clark Gracie
  • Gabriel Arges vs Lucas Leite
  • Abdurakhman Bilarov vs Erberth Santos
  • Yusup Saadulaev vs Caio Terra
  • Marat Gafurov vs AJ Agazarm
  • Daud Adaev vs Samir Chantre
  • Muhammad Kerimov vs Mahamed Aly

And then there’s the much anticipated superfight between the Danaher Death Squad member and  one of the rare few who have been successful against them – Keenan Cornelius.

Cornelius will be fighting EBI 6 victor, Gordon Ryan on the same day at Baruch College in New York City. This fight will be part of a Grappling Industries tournament.

Famous for their humor (and heel hooks) Danaher death squad tried to engage Keenan with several taunts however the answer was largely absent from Keenan’s camp.
