Steven Seagal, The Great Charlatan of the Martial Arts World

Martial arts has shown me some of the best people I have ever met and some of the biggest charlatans ever. Brazillian jiu-jitsu and wrestling are very pure sports given their nature. Wrestling doesn’t pay and wearing a singlet and getting oil checks doesn’t give you the same swag as an Aikido Kimono and Italian designer sunglasses. In a boxing match, these glasses would get smashed. Jiu jitsu is getting diluted, but but you can find the real deal easily and bogus blackbelts get called out.

The great Charlatan of the martial arts world is Steven Seagal. No martial artist has passed his level of quackery. He himself, is an art -and it’s not a good one, it’s the crappiest art that should be thrown on a pyre of wood next to Hitler’s landscape artworks. Photocopied only for mocking in an art school. Where do we even start with this bloated dingus’s acumen in the great martial art of bullshido?

Firstly, any time the guy has had the opportunity to prove himself in a fight, which I can only count as one time, it’s been a hard loss. Gene Lebel, the unfortunately forgotten godfather of American martial arts, apparently made Mr. Seagal defecate in his fancy man-dress during sort of exhibition. There isn’t much documentation of it. However, you have to consider that these sorts of things, back then, nobody really cared about. The camera phone was several decades ahead. Word of mouth is the tool of recording here. There’s no track record of Aikido wining against the majorly favored martial arts that serve as feeders against MMA. An entirely separate article would be needed to debase Aikido. Let’s join together in our despise for Seagal.

The next in the list of the ridiculous claims that Seagal has claimed is his claims of teaching Anderson Silva “that kick”. Silva agreed you know, because he’s a playful and fun Brazilian guy. Not because it’s the truth. Why not let the guy run with it? No harm no foul. The problem is, Seagal seeks importance. He’s a narcissist. He’s the epitome of what we hate about martial arts. The ultimate pursuit of ego. Martial arts should seek a degree of ego death and humility. This man searches to expand ego.
Where to search for such ego? Seagal goes to tyrants and enemy states. He’s cozied up with Lukashenko and Putin. He’s been on Russian state sponsor TV backing the claims of the regime. He’s proven himself an enemy to principle. Even Khabib Nuremegedov tries to stay to apolitical in these cases. He could pay a lot of lip service to tyrants but lets his faith in Islam guide him on moral principles. Seagal is a seeker of glory that he could never achieve. A corpulent succubus to tyrants and despots, he should be thrown out of every Dojo.
