Steven Seagal Got Challenged By George Foreman

Actor and 7th degree aikido black belt Steven Seagal got a very strange challenge recently. He was challenged by world class boxer George Foreman to what just might be the strangest challenge in combat sports history.

Famously known to the world as ‘Big George’, George Foreman is a former World Heavy Weight Champion, Olympic gold medalist, a pitch man, an entrepreneur and an author. It’s unclear what bone he has to pick with the actor.

Seagal has offered his mentorship in the past to MMA greats such as Anderson Silva and others.

Demian Maia revealed to the MMA bulletin what he really thought about Anderson Silva crediting actor and aikido master Steven Seagal for his success in MMA.

“It’s a lie, It’s marketing. Like every actor from Hollywood, when Seagal saw Anderson’s success, he glued himself to him. Seagal’s movie career was down. It worked because he appeared in the media again. Seagal never taught Silva anything… For everyone who knows about it, it’s a joke.”

Former UFC champion Jon Jones famously turned down help from Seagal before UFC 135.

Jones said:

“He was wondering if he could come and talk to me backstage before the fight, just give me some words of encouragement. I didn’t think that would be a good idea, My training staff works very hard on me. I’m their prodigy. I wouldn’t want to disrespect them by welcoming someone else’s master into our room, into our house, into our family.”
