Sonnen Advances in HW Grand Prix, MacDonald Captures Title at Bellator 192 & Royce Gracie Son Loses

 

 

Bellator has been successful lately in capturing the attention of the public. The much buzzed about Heavyweight tournament got it’s first match over with. Chael Sonnen will be advancing to the next round.

Former UFC middleweight relied on his wrestling for an unanimous decision over Rampage Jackson.

All judges scored contest 29-28 for Sonnen. Sonnen is set to face winner of Frank Mir Fedor Emelianenko fight scheduled for April.

In the co main event Rory MacDonald got his championship belt.

Very early on things looked grime for MacDonald who had gotten a hematoma on his shin and a busted nose. However he managed to hang in there and grind a victory over Douglas Lima for that welterweight gold. The score was 48-47. 49-45 and 49-46.

 

Khonry Gracie lost via an unanimous verdict to Devon Brock. (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)
