Mario Lopez has been known for plenty of things but in the recent years it’s his hosting in addition to the chiseled physique that’s captured the attention the most.
Saved By The Bell actor has been considered a fitness phenom for a number of years. He is known for taking chances – he’s done tv movies, exercise videos but also reality shows. Some claim he never lost the “wrestler’s body” that made him an adolescent star.
According to his wikipedia: He graduated from Chula Vista High School in 1991, where he wrestled for Chula Vista at the weight class of 160 lbs placing 2nd in the San Diego Section and 7th in the state of California in 1991 as well.
In the past he’s been quoted saying (via bodybuilding.com):
You know, staying healthy is a top-of-mind thing for me. It’s woven into my DNA, I guess you could say. I just feel I’m at my best at work and at play when I’m taking care of myself physically. And I’m never satisfied, I think that helps. I always want to improve and get better. Whether I’m boxing, running or lifting weights, each day I look for a challenge and get after it.
So naturally he’s decided to try BJJ as well!
It appears the famous actor/personality has joined the orders of Gracie Barra captioning the clip above:
“Great training/sparring today… #Jiujitsu #GracieBarra #SundayWorkout”
Casual glimpse at his instagram revealed he has opted to enjoy the activity with his son Nico. He posted:
Lopez obviously enjoys including the kids in his work outs as evidenced by this glimpse into his private life:
Sloth Jiu-Jitsu: you can be slow and unathletic and still kick butt in Jiu-Jitsu.
