Ryan Hall’s Super Slick Guillotine Sweep to Back Take

The Guillotine Choke is one of the most dominant submissions in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. However, no matter how good at it you may be, sometimes you’ll fail to get the tap. And what should you do in those moments of failure?
There are a lot of options available. Here’s an unusual one: a back take that they will never see coming.

GUILLOTINE FAILED? TRY THIS UNUSUAL BACK TAKE

If, for some reason, you fail to block the training partner’s hip with your bottom leg and they roll over, it may seem as if your Guillotine efforts were for nothing. But it isn’t so.
You should keep in place your Chin Strap grip. This is a fantastic grip for controlling your opponent’s movement (just remember: where their head goes, the body will follow), but in this instance you’ll use it immediately for the back take.

You need to clear the opponent’s arm and back into a modified mount and when they move, you can start to take the back and end up in a great position:
