Rafael Lovato Jr Signs With Bellator, Debut Set

Bellator MMA has set their sight on an elite bjj name a while back, and looks like the deal is in place. Sources tell mmafighting.com that Rafael Lovato Jr has signed with the organization to join the middleweight division.

Lovato is currently 33 years old and holds a record of 4-0 in MMA. He first tried his hand at mixed martial arts back in 2014 before steadying himself in the Legacy FC. Now his debut fight has been set for the Bellator 174 card and an opponent is in place!

Earlier this month he hinted something along these lines saying:

”  As you all have been able to see by my posts lately, I am currently training for a MMA fight. I haven’t officially announced it yet, because the promotion has been working hard the last couple of weeks on securing an opponent for me & nothing has been made official. Well, everything is coming together now & my opponent will be secured this evening so I can go ahead & tell you where I will be fighting. On March 3rd, in my home state of #Oklahoma, I will be making my @bellatormma debut at #Bellator174!!! I will be fighting with my new student @thebigpygmy & my bro @kendallgrovemma that same night! I am very excited for this opportunity & am ready to put on a great performance! Tomorrow I will post more details. Thank you all for your support!”

Lovato will be making his debut as early as March 3rd at Bellator 174 where he will be taking on Wayman Carter. The fight is set for the preliminary portion of the card while the whole event will be happening in Thackerville, Oklahoma.

Carter’s record stands at 6 wins and 4 losses and he is associated with American Jiu Jitsu according to sherdog. He is currently 38 years old.
