Rafael Lovato Jr. Determined To Wait for Title Shot After Mousasi Back Injury

Rafael Lovato Jr. won’t be fighting at Bellator 214 after all.  The news was first reported by MMAjunkie.

Lovato was originally scheduled to challenge Gegard Mousasi for his Bellator championship in the evening’s co-main event, but Mousasi was reported as a scratch in December due to a back injury.

Lovato Jr managed to best a seasoned wrestler in John Salter in order to secure his title shot.

Following victory Mousasi called him out:

“The Dreamcatcher” has won last eight fights – and has just one defeat in the past four years. It is not yet known how long he’ll be on the shelf.
