Metamoris 7: Results And Videos

Metamoris 7 was held last night in Los Angeles, California. After many issues securing the original card it was all together abandoned for the card featuring organization’s founder and a Danaher Death Squad member.

The main fight was as memorable (if not) more as their taunts exchanged in the days leading upto the match!

The tournament was running late as per its’ founder – he was running it on Brazilian time.

Stephen Martinez VS Morgan Neidlinger – DRAW

Neidlinger is one of Kron Gracie’s top students, he tried several times to secure the kimura trap he’s known for. But Chekmat’s Martinez held on. Later on, heavier Martinez imposed a very intense top pressure game. But to no avail, match ended in a draw

Eduardo Telles VS Fabio Leopoldo – DRAW

While Leopoldo started with working on taking the back, Turtle master, Telles attempted a sweep but landed himself into a crucifix. Leopoldo tried for a guillotine, it was looking quite tight but not luck. After several scrambles match ended in a draw.

Satoshi Ishii VS Vladimir Matyushenko – DRAW

The most dramatic thing about this match was the fact that at some point Matyushenko dropped out then he was promptly back in about 2 days back. Otherwise this was the biggest stalemate of all the fights.

Richie “Boogeyman” Martinez vs Kevin Casey – DRAW

This was a dynamic fight. Richie played from the bottom attacking with some omoplatas from rubberguard. Kevin Casey, who trained some with Ralek Gracie, tried a can opener but didn’t secure a closing. It was apparent that both competitors were having fun and the tone of match was somewhat playful while intense. In the end Martinez reverted to closed guard but the match ended in a draw.

Jeff Glover VS Bruno Malfacine – DRAW

This was another interesting matchup as we don’t see Malfacine usually in sub only. Malfacine had several solid armbar attempts but no dice. Glover predictably strutted around, attempted donkey guard, made some leglock attacks. At a certain point Glover almost had the heel hook but tried to turn it into a knee bar and Malfacine managed to escape. Glover tried hard to toe hold in the very end but it didn’t work. Malfacine seems quite flexible.

Ralek Gracie VS Garry Tonon – Tonon via Kneebar

Garry Tonon started of offensively, dived for an ankle pick into a back take but it didn’t stick. Tonon even shot a double leg very early on but Ralek countered. Gracie worked on a pass for a little while and almost took the back following an arm drag. Ralek Gracie hit a nice drop seoi nage later on but since they were doing no gi he had no grips. Tonon later had the opportunity to look for a twister but he didn’t manage to secure Ralek’s arm.

After a successful armdrag, Tonon took the back. He secured the body triangle looking for Ralek’s neck. Transitioned into mount but Ralek came in with the upa. Following the scramble Tonon refocused on looking for the foot.

Ralek hit a sweep from guillotine grip but Garry got on top again, knee slicing his way through the pass. The pass was soon abandoned as Garry grabbed Ralek’s ankle. Kneebar sinks in.

This is the setup he used:
