The Berkut BJJ invitational is putting together an amazing card with 13 elite level submission only matches. The event will be held in Moscow, Russia on November 21st.
The Berkut organisation were able to invite some of the biggest grappling stars in the world. This card is arguably the greatest card ever assembled for a grappling event.
In the main event Andre Galvao will fight vs Romulo Barral in a No Gi 20 mins submission only super fight. Other stars include Felipe Pena, Yuri Simoes, Dean Lister, Caio Terra, Aj Agazarm, Claudio Calasans, Jeff Monson and more….
The whole event will be streamed live on Flograppling.com on Nov. 21, at 8am ET and 5am CT.
Berkut, is a Chechen combat organization that promotes both BJJ and MMA events.
The founder of Berkut is Mairbek Khasiev, a Chechen businessman who has a passion for MMA and BJJ. Khasiev is the owner of ACB MMA league. He avidly trains BJJ and even recently earned a silver medal at the 2015 IBJJF European Open at blue belt Master. He is now a BJJ purple belt and trains every day.
Last March, Khasiev launched Chechnya’s first BJJ tournament, Berkut 1 and invited none other than BJJ’s cream (Mendes brothers, Vinny Magalhaes, Jackson Sousa, Osvaldo Moizinho) to teach seminars to his fighters and compete in super fights.
Fighters from the Caucasus region are taking over MMA: Khabib Nurmagomedov, Rashid Magomedov, Adlan Amagov, and Rustam Khabilov. Now they are also focusing on BJJ, with rising stars Abdurakhman Bilarov (who defeated Claudio Calasans in Berkut 1) and Arbi Muradov.

Berkut MMA gym includes UFC fighters like lightweights Mairbek Taisumov and UFC featherweight Zubaira Tukhugov.
Berkut has a gym in Moscow, one Grozny, the Chechen capital and in Belgium. The BJJ academy often flies in BJJ stars for seminars and camps. They recently hosted 2015 ADCC champion Davi Ramos, Ary Farias and Victor Honorio.
