McGregor: I was so happy for Aldo After Victory

McGregor famously defeated Jose Aldo in only 12 seconds. Even though the fight was in 2015 it still feels like yesterday as it facilitated much of McGregor’s meteoric climb to stardom.

Aldo has had a rough ride since. The once unmatched champion suffered two losses from Max Holloway since and 2 victories – over Frankie Edgar and most recently Jeremy Stephens.

When prompted about Aldo by TMZ Mcgregor replied:

“I was so happy for him,” McGregor said. “Honestly, truly happy to see the joy he had after it. It’s a crazy business, and I know he’s gone through a lot of stuff. So to see him come back with that great finish, I was very happy for him and his coach, Andre Pederneiras. The whole of Ireland was happy for Jose Aldo that night.”

Does Aldo have it in him to reclaim the title?
