Major EBI 9 Changes: Keenan Cornelius Out, Two More Beasts In

Eddie Bravo broke the news just a couple of hours ago. Heavily anticipated Eddie Bravo Invitational Light Heavyweights just hit a snag – it will no longer be featuring Keenan Cornelius.

There is no word on just why Keenan will no longer be competing at the prestigious sub only event.

In the past, EBI has hit some snags in wanting to feature huge names. The creator of the event seems adamant that the event’s prize is the actual prize and he’s quite reluctant giving money just for an appearance.

Keenan has not weighed in just yet, if and when he does we will keep you updated.

On the bright side, 2 beasts have entered the following tournament – ADCC legend Vinny Magalhaes and the most recent middleweight victor – Gordon Ryan.

Gordon Ryan’s last EBI participation earned him 15.000$ and he earned another cool 25.000$ for his victory at EBI 6 previously.

Interesting Vinny Magalhaes anecdote is featured on Dean Lister’s KACH dvds – he is quoted saying he could get the heel hook sub on Vinny Magalhaes so it’ll certainly be interesting to see if anyone on the EBI bracket can find a solution for him – especially given that heel hooks are dominant way of finishing a fight at EBI.

Vinny Magalhaes was also the first person to perform a twister sub (an Eddie Bravo favorite) at ADCC so it’ll be interesting to watch for sure!

Just two days ago everything was fine in Keenan’s camp given that this promo was released:

Who else would you like to see enter this tournament?
