Khabib Nurmagomedov Condemns Moscow Attacks

Khabib Nurmagomedov, the former UFC champion, recently made a heartfelt statement on Instagram following a devastating event in Moscow. Despite his retirement from mixed martial arts in 2020, Nurmagomedov remains a significant figure in the sport.

Reacting to the tragic incident, he expressed deep sorrow and offered his condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. He strongly condemned the violent act, emphasizing the incomprehensible nature of such brutality and assuring that those responsible would face justice:

“I express my sincere condolences to the families of those killed in Moscow.
This is a very big tragedy, take care of yourself and your loved ones. People are NOT capable of this, this is the work of non-humans, everyone will answer for their nasty and vile act.”

This attack, occurring shortly after President Vladimir Putin’s re-election, highlights ongoing security challenges in Russia. It is considered one of the most severe terrorist incidents in Moscow in many years, overshadowing recent political events.

On Friday, a devastating terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall in Moscow resulted in the tragic loss of at least 137 lives, as reported by Russia’s Investigative Committee. Rescue efforts continued through Sunday in parts of the venue that were engulfed in flames.

The attack unfolded on the evening of March 22 at the Crocus City Hall, where the rock band Picnic was scheduled to perform. The concert hall, which can hold approximately 7,500 people, was nearly at full capacity when the incident occurred. The assailants, armed and lethal, first eliminated the security guards before opening fire on the attendees and igniting a fire that rapidly spread throughout the facility.

Investigators revealed that the death toll includes three children, and 62 victims have been identified thus far. Additionally, health authorities have reported that around 180 individuals sustained injuries during the attack.

On Sunday, the Investigative Committee issued a statement detailing the recovery of an arsenal from the crime scene, including four sets of combat ammunition, over 500 bullets, 28 magazines, and two Kalashnikov assault rifles used by the attackers.

Furthermore, a Makarov pistol and a Kalashnikov magazine were found in a vehicle believed to be the getaway car of the terrorists.

In connection with this horrific event, four suspects were apprehended on Saturday in the Bryansk Region, near Ukraine’s border. The Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia has announced the detention of a total of 11 suspects in relation to the attack.
