Held this Friday (4), in Kaalang, Singapore, the “ONE Championship – Big Bang” marked the return of Garry Tonon to the Asian organization’s MMA fights. Featured in the main event of the edition, the Jiu-Jitsu black belt, who has not fought since May of last year in mixed martial arts, faced Koyomi Matsushima and emerged victorious by unanimous decision after three rounds of a one way grappling clinic. With the result, the American maintained his unbeaten record in the sport, now with six wins , three of them by submission.

The MMA card also featured two other match ups. In action in the flyweight category, South African Bokang Masunyane was another one to maintain his MMA unbeaten record – now with eight victories – by knocking out Rene Catalan in just 37 seconds of their fight, after delivering a spectacular high kick, which landed on his opponent’s head. Strawweight Ritu Phogat also won by knockout in the opening round. Facing Jomary Torres, the Indian had a gala performance and defeated his opponent after achieving a brutal sequence of elbows on the ground and pound, following unbeaten in the sport, with four victories, all of them by the ONE Championship.

In addition to the MMA fights, the ONE Championship, as usual, reserved a card for Kickboxing duels, with three clashes in all. The big highlight was Marat Grigorian, who knocked out Ivan Kondratev after a string of powerful punches at the waist, which led to the interruption of the central referee. The only Brazilian in action on the card, Anderson Silva ended up being overtaken by Murat Aygun in the unanimous decision of the judges.
