Gabi Garcia Set To Duel MMA Veteran who Made Her Name Defeating 330 lbs Opponent

Gabi Garcia hasn’t had much luck finding good opponents. Even though Rizin dangled some women who can parallel Garcia’s stature none of them are upto par when it comes to.. well much. This is why Garcia ended up facing Yumiko Hotta last time at Rizin – in what can be described as tragicomical.

But even though Gabi has opted for shoot boxing S cup to work on her stand up – still there was an issue with potential opponents.

As is Garcia will be facing women’s MMA pioneer and pro wrestler Megumi Yabushita at Girls S-Cup 2017 on July 7 at Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo.

Yabushita is 45 and has made her debut staggering 17 years earlier. She is a Japanese female mixed martial artist, kickboxer, professional wrestler and judoka. She has participated in several Japanese professional wrestling and mixed martial arts promotions. She is a Japanese national judo champion and a former Smackgirl open weight champion and tournament winner.

According to sherdog Yabushita rose to prominence courtesy of her iconic defeat of 6-foot-3, 330-pound Russian judoka Svetlana Goundarenko in the landmark December 2000 ReMix World Cup – meaning she might’ve had a chance against Garcia at one point in time. And surely enough it’s on youtube!
