Eddie Bravo’s Invitational is perhaps the most popular grappling tournament right now. The prestigious sub only event is doing another edition of Absolutes – previous being won by Gordon Ryan in a breakout performance.
We’ve certainly gone a long way since then with the EBI victor and ADCC medalist reportedly charging 500$ a private currently!
Besides the so called king – 2 other ADCC vets will be in the event. Craig Jones who put on quite a show at ADCC but was nevertheless unable to handle Ryan previously and Rustam Chsiev whose exciting style is always great to watch.
Rustam Chsiev’s road to grappling notoriety has been quite unorthodox. Unlike the rest of the field at EBI, Chsiev isn’t the product of an established jiu jitsu lineage – he is a near-international level wrestler with insane submission defense. Under the tutelage of Murat “Master K” Keshtov, Rustam Chsiev emerged onto the scene a few years ago and began emphatically shocking established Brazilian jiu jitsu practitioners. Rustam holds wins over Davi Ramos, Romulo Barral and Rafael Lovato Jr.!
Craig Jones is on fire right now and he’s booking matches left and right – he’ll certainly have something to prove.

The tournament will also featured Armenian Karen Darabedyan who is a former WEC challenger and a fighter fluent in Hayastan combat system. The Hayastan Grappling System combines elements of Judo, Sambo, JuJitsu, and Greco Roman and Freestyle Wrestling. The system includes all forms of submissions, including leglocks, heel hooks, footlocks, kneebars, shoulder locks, wrist locks, neck cranks, body cranks, and chokes.
Guybson Sa will be reprising his appearance at EBI. The ace one time beat Buchecha and Rodolfo Vieira however he’s since slowed down a bit.
