Dillon Danis takes every day in stride as a day to raise even more eyebrows. The number one MMA fighter with 0 fights to his name is not quite done with grappling.
After several sparkling years under the Marcelo Garcia banner Danis had been evicted and kept looking for a new home. During the last year first he went under the Drysdale banner however he failed to win anything at worlds.
Following that came the ADCC 2017 – one of the most prestigious competitions in the world. Danis lucked out and got Gordon Ryan in the first round. To his credit he was not submitted by the then future ADCC champ (click to enlarge)
And in the absolute his journey was ended by Mahmud Aly in the quarter finals
Still it isn’t stopping Danis for craving that one more high as he explains why he’s opposed to belt washing:
“apparently a black belt was made from a guy that had a white belt and he never washed it so it
turned black. I feel like never wash your belt. I hate that people do that it kinda messes up the spirit of jiu jitsu for me. At least I feel like “
We do wonder how come nobody told Danis (including flograppling staff) that an unwashed belt actually has more fecal matter on it than the toilet bowl but oh well. He also wants more attention and another run in with Gordon Ryan while he’s at it:
