UFC 205 was historic across the board. But for Demian Maia it might mean his title shot is even further away.
Stephen Wonderboy Thompson put on quite a performance but not enough to ouster the current 170lbs champ Tyron Woodley – the match was decided a draw!
Now Dana White is confirming a rematch will be first order of business:
“You rematch, man,” he said. “I think that it was a draw and the fight was ridiculous. It was the fight of the night. Let’s do it again.”
As for Demian Maia he said:
“Demian Maia is right there, man,” White said. “He’ll get the next shot. If he wants to fight somebody else or whatever. I don’t know. Again, it’s the night of the fights. I hate to make fights on the night of the fights, but that one makes sense. I think it makes sense.”
Maia was present at UFC 205 and was watching the fight but hasn’t commented thus far.
