Pop star Demi Lovato is one of the biggest celeb fans of jiu-jitsu right now. Not only is she not shy about trying on techniques and posting all over social media, she’s also come out right and suggested all Glamour magazine readers to try it.
GLAMOUR: What’s your favorite workout right now?
DL: My favorite workout is Jiu-Jitsu. I just have so much fun doing it, and there’s something about the strategy involved that kind of makes it like a chess game and keeps your brain occupied as well while you’re working out, so you never get bored.
GLAMOUR: A workout for your body and mind.
DL: Yes!
Later Lovato went on to add:
GLAMOUR: Is there a move that you do in one of those martial arts trainings that you think everyone should try?
DL: With Jiu-Jitsu you can learn a lot of self-defense, which is pretty incredible for your daily life. You never know what kind of situations you’re going to come into, so I think teaching young girls how to learn Jiu-Jitsu is a great idea.
