Dan Henderson Looking To Take One Of Jon Jones’ Arms Home

Dan Henderson is looking forward to his grappling superfight against UFC legend Jon Jones.

Henderson might’ve just retired from mma but people sometimes forget he is a former Olympic wrestler. Henderson was a member of Dave Schultz Wrestling Club and had won a number of accolades.

Dan Henderson once admitted he’d be lost in the Gi but he still believes he could take Jones to town and get an armbar.

In the past he’s said:

“Jiu-Jitsu to me is key, combined with wrestling. Wrestling is a great foundation with which to control a fight, but you need Jiu-Jitsu or striking to finish the opponent. I love grappling, but the truth is I never put on a gi. I’d be lost in the gi!”

In a post for champions.co he writes:

Now, onto Jon Jones who I will be facing at Submission Underground 2 next month. I saw some interview he did where he said that he’d put high level wrestlers on their ass and planned to do the same to me. Sit down, kid. You’re letting your mouth write checks you can’t possibly make good on. I’ll be taking one of your arms home with me.

I’ve got a few favorite submission moves, but I’m pretty partial to armbars and leglocks. Vitor did a pretty good job with an armbar on Jonny four or five years back. I plan on going the extra mile to get the job done.

Jon Jones recently declared he’s really fallen in love with jiu-jitsu and surprisingly that jiu-jitsu has been the most neglected skill in his MMA training so it will be truly interesting to see who comes out on top!

Submission Underground 2 happens December 11th at 2:30 p.m. PT. The event will be live streamed by flograppling!
