Covington Got His Wish – An Interim Title In Brazil Is A Go

Colby Covington dashed the dreams of many brazilian jiu jitsu fans when he sidelined Demian Maia’s bid for welterweight UFC title. However the truly stunning part came right after when he spouted so much anti Brazilian racist sentiment. So much so that it affected his ability to return home and his home team.

Now it’s confirmed Covington will be returning to Brazil for an interim title shot against another Brazilian – Rafael Dos Anjos.

The fight card in question is UFC 224 pay-per-view (PPV) event, slotted for May 12, 2018 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

RDA is 3-0 since moving up a weight category (28-9 overall) and with his most impressive win to date by outworking Robbie Lawler in Winnipeg.

“I was told Woodley was only able to fight at the end of the year, I can’t wait that long,” Dos Anjos said to mmamania. “I have kids, I need to keep going with my career and Colby Covington is the next guy in line. I have the contract signed on my side, we are just waiting on him.”
