Car Crashed Through Wall of BJJ Academy During Training

Leadership Martial Arts Academy recently had a crazy incident. A car crashed through the building side wall into the viewing area and main mat area while there a was a BJJ class happening.

There was substantial damage, but thankfully there were no injuries to any students and staff.

BJJ black belt and owner Derek Richardson told WCCB Charlotte:

“From what we can tell, the guy hit the curve at such a speed, he jumped over our neighbor’s detention pond, and then through the wall of our facility. He probably came a good 45 feet in the facility with his vehicle.”

The driver, identified as 42-year-old Dante Duffy, was rushed to the hospital. No one else was hurt.
