Much like last year IBJJF Grand Prix was won by Marcus Almeida Buchecha. As Worlds proved his heaviest competition would be the new and hulk looking Leandro Lo. But much like Worlds proved, Buchecha managed to stay dominant. Although this time Lo was much closer as the match went to ref decision.
Submissions were somewhat lacking although out of 7 total fights 2 ended in submissions. Notably Leandro Lo managed to get a kimura on Evangelista.
Later on Buchecha got an ankle lock on Joao Rocha.
