5X BJJ World Champion Bernardo Faria has recently left New York for Bedford, Massachusetts to open his first ever very own BJJ academy.
Bernardo Faria is one of the most loved figures in BJJ because of his positive attitude and friendly personality. He is known for his half guard and pressure passing. He achieved a phenomenal double gold medals in the BJJ Mundials in 2015. Be sure to check out Bernardo’s new DVD instructional series on the Faria Guard, The Z Guard, escapes and pressure passing.
The academy has a unique format. It’s a house that has been converted into a BJJ academy! It has a large main mat space on the ground floor. The second floor has a second mat area and also a room for private classes.
The grand opening was on Monday January 29 and Bernardo talked about the first clas which was held at 7am:
